Our Team

Our ABI rehabilitation team consists of Academic Rehabilitation Managers, Educational Consultants and Teachers.

Ms. Johanna Preston, M.A.Ed., O.T.C.

Ms. Preston is the Director of Education at ALA, where she has been working for 8 years. She has considerable experience working with children with head injuries, seizure disorders, and other neurological disorders in a teaching and consulting capacity. She has received training in Direct Instruction programs through the Association for Direct Instruction (Eugene, Oregon), and is certified as a DI trainer. She has trained teachers and education professionals in both public and private schools across Ontario. She holds a Master’s degree from the Human Development & Applied Psychology department at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers.

Ms. Jennie Wilson M.Ed

Ms. Wilson has been a valuable member of our team for 5 years. Prior to that she worked as a classroom teacher where she developed an excellent sensitivity to the need of many kinds of children. As a teacher, she has specialized in working with children with attentional disorders and other behavioural issues including problems with anxiety and hyperactivity. In more recent years she has proven a keen diagnostician, who with attention to detail and insight, has become a real asset to ALA. She has a Masters Degree in Education specializing in adaptive instruction from the department of Curriculum Teaching and Learning at the Ontario institute for Studies In Education.

Mr. Pierre Redman B. Sc., B. Ed., O.C.T

Mr. Redman has taught Direct Instruction programs for over 7 years at Angus Lloyd Associates Inc. He has done extensive work both as a substitute teacher in the Toronto District School Board and as a freelance teacher. He specializes in teaching pre-literacy and literacy skills to children in early primary grades. Mr. Redman has worked with children with various Brain injuries as well as many other learning difficulties. Recently he has taken on the job of Coordinator for our ABI casework. He holds his degrees from the University of Toronto, is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers, and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.
