Entrance Exam Tutoring

• Are you considering a private school for your child?  In Ontario, most independent and private schools require an entrance exam, often the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).

  Used by many private schools as part of the admissions process, the SSAT entrance exam tests your child in the areas of essay writing, vocabulary, mathematics, and reading comprehension.

  Toronto-based educational consulting firm Angus Lloyd Associates Inc. provides entrance exam tutoring for the SSAT, as well as instruction in persuasive essay writing.

   

Our SSAT preparatory program includes:

• One-on-one teaching with a certified teacher

• Essential practice tests designed to build confidence and foster familiarity with the SSAT

• Relevant homework activities to target persuasive writing skills

• Homework assignments that target vocabulary development

• Persuasive essay writing instruction

• Summary reports for parents, including practice SSAT scores, itemized skills taught, teacher observations and other relevant feedback

By the end of our SSAT preparatory program, your child will have developed essential test-taking skills and strategies needed to succeed on standardized entrance exams.  These include, but are not limited to:

• Understanding specific SSAT marking protocols

• Prioritizing test questions

• Developing strategies to alleviate test anxiety

Most importantly, this type of SSAT entrance exam program enhances test-taking skills that can be transferred across disciplines and applied over the course of your child's high school, university, and adult life.
