Direct Instruction Training
Our hands-on workshops are a must for all teachers, educational assistants, administrators, educators, and parents who want to learn how to teach using the Direct Instruction approach. Johanna Preston, M. Ed., a member of the Ontario College of Teachers and a certified Direct Instruction teacher and trainer, teaches each one-day workshop.
For your convenience, the workshops can be held at the location of your choice.
We offer the following Direct Instruction workshops:
- Teaching Corrective Reading Decoding & Comprehension
- Teaching Reading Mastery Levels 1-6
- Teaching Language for Learning
- Teaching Spelling Mastery
- Teaching Reasoning & Writing
- Teaching Connecting Math Concepts
Each one-day workshop program covers instruction strategies such as placement, lesson presentation, formats, and error correction procedures, to ensure a high level of student engagement. Participants will not only learn presentation techniques, but practice them as well.
Included in the price of each Direct Instruction workshop is a Teacher's Guide and training handout for each participant.
Toronto groups and organizations interested in booking a Direct Instruction workshop can drop us a line at postmaster@anguslloyd.com. Individuals wishing to attend can email us to be notified of the next available training.
