We are a team of educational consultants who have been helping children and adolescents with learning problems or disabilities achieve success in school since 1996.

ALA Inc. was founded in 1996 by Mr. Angus Lloyd to provide educational services for students who are not achieving success in school. Prior to founding the organization, Angus was a special-education teacher for more than 25 years.

While working as a teacher-diagnostician at the Child Development Centre at the Sick Kids Hospital, he realized that what was needed to increase students' rate of progress through school was a clinical approach of standardized testing followed by prescriptive teaching.

Angus passed away in 2003, leaving us a legacy of accountability and precision. Our director, Ms. Johanna Preston, M.A.Ed. and her consulting team of Pierre Redman M.Ed, Alanna Silver, M.A.Ed. and Heather McFadzean M.Ed. continue to bring the thoroughness, and dedication that our clients have come to expect.
